Loreen and Leo - 07.28.12 - Torrance Cultural Arts Center

Loreen and Leo are married!!!!

I had the privilege of photographing the wedding of Loreen and Leo a few weekends back at the Torrance Cultural Arts Center in Torrance, CA.  It was a beautiful day for a wedding, the weather was perfect (maybe a little warm to a few), but the sun was out and shining bright.  The sun was not the only thing shining bright, so were all of the smiles of everyone that attended to join in the celebration of the wedding.

Engaged!!! Brad and Lisa - April 2012

It has been a few months now, but I got the opportunity to photograph Brad and Lisa back in April for their upcoming wedding.  What ended up being a very long day of photographing, at 4 different locations, spread all over Los Angeles -  it was completely worth it!!

Words cannot express how happy I am for Brad and Lisa and their upcoming wedding because it has been a long time coming and they have been truly wonderful friends throughout the years.  Their goofiness, creativity, good-sportsmanship, and most importantly, love for each other just made for a wonderful day and insight for the wedding...

Sorry for the short narrative, but most importantly are the photos...

Locations visited:  Union Station, Disney Concert Hall, Farmers Market, and LACMA

Baby Grant's First Birthday Dol - Los Angeles, CA - 01.14.12

I was given the honor to photograph a very special celebration for Baby Grant's first birthday party.  A traditional celebration in the Korean culture is the Dol in which the family gathers for food and celebration (much like a regular birthday party.)  During the Dol there is a big event called the Doljabi,  and every Korean family has their baby dressed in their traditional clothing (a hanbok) sitting at the head table.  The highlight of the Doljabi is where you put a few items in front of the baby to see which they will choose.  This is suppose to foretell their future.  Items typically include a pen (scholar), money (wealth), string (long life), golf ball (athlete), etc.

Happy 1st Birthday Grant!!

Formula Drift - Round 1 - Long Beach, CA - 04.07.12

Formula Drift kicked off the 2012 season on the streets of Long Beach, CA this weekend.  Playing host to over 10,000 fans and spectators a record number of drivers (nearly 60) entered for their chance at qualifying into the weekends Top 32.  All in all, nearly 20 of these drivers were 2012 rookies and would soon test their skills between the very unforgiving concrete walls/barriers that surround the Turns 9, 10, and 11 at the infamous Grand Prix circuit.

This was also the debut of some brand new cars and drivers for the 2012 season including Ken Gushi in the highly anticipated Scion FR-S and Daigo Saito from Japan in his 1,200 HP Lexus SC430.

RESULTS:

First Place - Justin Pawlak - Falken Tire Ford Mustang
Second Place - Daijiro Yoshihara - America's Tire / Falken Tire S13
Third Place - Daigo Saito - Achilles Tire / Bridges Racing Lexus SC430
